I would like you to meet the newest member of my family, Avi. He is my new avocado seed. I plan to take very good care of him.
It was a regular day, like any other. I said good morning to Justin as he gave me a kiss and headed off to work. Then I went in to check on Avi and headed into the kitchen to make tea. But when I opened the cupboard, I noticed there are only 3 of my (current) little favorite teabags remaining in the Humangear pod - Steven Smith Teamaker Morning Light #25. My 1st tin of this "cool morning walk in the forest" was a Christmas gift from my friend Ashley.
She surprised me with this delightful tea and also, a wonderful handmade infinity scarf. When I took the scarf out of the gift bag, I couldn't believe my eyes. Not only was it just what I needed (it was cold!) but it completely complimented the blazer I was wearing at the time. Thanks again friend! I'm wearing it right now.
I mentioned in my post yesterday that I've had a house full of goodies all month. Below are some pics of the stuff I was playing with to tantalize your taste buds..
I made a couple of batches of baklava around the same time I made one of my favorites, honey ice cream, yum!
I made these peanut butter, date and granola bars two days ago. Aside from adding some chopped chocolate, I followed the original recipe. Initially, I didn't think I would post them because they seemed a little salty. However, my husband was raving about the one he had with his coffee the next morning. It's a nice firm, yet chewy bar that reminds me of a mouth-full of Planters peanuts. Still, in the future, I will leave out the salt called for in the original recipe.
The day is ending on a good note. It rained, the grass is green and my seeds got watered!
